The history of DUPUIS FORD LINCOLN demonstrates the evidence of hard work, perseverance and honesty in order to offer complete satisfaction and the best possible service to the customer. |
THE EVOLUTION |
| 1949 |
Raymond Dupuis shows a real passion for cars. A family member notices it and, one day, suggests that he consider a career in the car business. He then associates with Raoul Racine and they buy their very first vehicle for $50. They recondition the car in top shape and the car is sold! From this moment, Raymond Dupuis is in business! He gets experience at a Finch dealership and during his free time, keeps on selling used cars that he displays on a vacant lot near the church. |
| 1957 |
Raymond works for Gérard Chamberland FORD in Rockland. This is an opportunity for him to purchase and sell new and used vehicles. |
| 1958 |
The vacant lot near the church is no longer available as the parish wants to build a parking lot. Raymond buys a piece of land on St-Isidore street where a shed is converted into a garage. R. Dupuis Auto Sales is born! Fernande is responsible for the paperwork and the accounting as well as taking care of the family at home. |
| 1966 |
The fashion cars are Meteor and Mercury. Raymond Dupuis Ltée becomes a Ford Mercury dealer. The eldest, Donald, graduates from high school and is promoted to service and parts manager. He remains in that position until 1970 and then works with his father in the sales department. |
| 1972 |
As the business grows and progresses, it needs physical expansion and an addition is constructed. |
| 1975 |
The eldest daughter, Diane, joins the team and assumes the position of controller. |
| 1976 |
A very important goal is now achieved when the Dupuis family obtains the Lincoln franchise, a prestigious and very classy car. |
| 1981 |
The sudden death of Raymond Dupuis on June 26 causes great sorrow to the entire team at the dealership. This is quickly followed by the 80's economic crisis, another ordeal that keeps every employee committed to giving a 100% effort and hard work in order to keep the enterprise on an even keel. With great effort and determination, the team manages to accomplish this challenge. |
| 1984 |
Michel Dupuis, the third child of the family, joins Donald and Diane as service manager. |
| 1987 |
The second generation extends its involvement in the business. Donald, Diane and Michel become shareholders of Dupuis Lincoln-Mercury. |
| 1991 |
Having been raised in a paradise of cars and trucks, Sylvain, the youngest son, steers his passion toward a career as a consultant in vehicle sales and lease.
The dealership expands its square footage and makes major renovations to the building. After several months of construction, the official inauguration of the new premises is held in April 1992. |
| 1998 |
Fernande Dupuis transfers her title as President of the company to her oldest son, Donald. |
| 1999 |
After half a century of devotion, improvement, expansion and hard work, it's time to celebrate! The theme "We would like to celebrate with you" expresses the recognition of the Dupuis family toward their customers and employees. Dupuis Lincoln-Mercury changes its name to DUPUIS FORD LINCOLN. |
| 2002 |
In order to respond to our growth development and to provide our customers and personnel with the finest technology, a major renovation and expansion project of 10,000 square feet, in our service and parts departments, is initiated. This expansion project empowers our business to a larger market of commercial and heavy duty vehicles. Several spacious bays are added to the new shop and a drive-thru area improves the comfort of the customer upon arrival at the service department.
The construction period is carried on from July to January 2003 and we proceed to the inauguration of the new service facilities on May 2, 2003.
We are an "Ontario's Drive Clean" accredited facility for light and heavy duty vehicles, as well as diesel heavy duty vehicles.
